The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of California Davis Medical Center wishes to recruit an individual for an Assistant Professor rank within the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series. Candidates must have completed a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and must be eligible for licensure in the State of California.
This position gives the applicant the opportunity to join a growing group of academic clinicians and researchers who are committed to both clinical care and research. This applicant will help to further improve and expand the current pulmonary team, with an emphasis on airways disease and multidisciplinary disease management.
Candidates can expect to practice in a stimulating academic environment, teaching trainees at multiple levels on the inpatient pulmonary consult service, and in outpatient pulmonary clinics. Candidates may also attend in the medical intensive care unit, on the critical care consult service, and act as an intensivist in non-medical intensive care units. Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment.
Candidates must possess an MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent degrees and be ABIM board certified in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine. Candidates must be eligible for a California medical license. This individual should have a track record of excellence in clinical care, as well as clinical teaching of medical students and residents. A strong commitment to outstanding, and cutting edge, clinical care of complex airways disease is desired. Specifically, the applicant is expected to bring experience across a wide array of pulmonary diseases, from severe asthma to suppurative airways diseases, such as cystic fibrosis and non-CF bronchiectasis. Demonstrated skill in the care of complex pulmonary disease and experience in all aspects of patient-based care of airways disease (CF, immune deficiencies, granulomatous disease) will characterize the ideal candidate. Candidates must have completed a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and must be eligible for licensure in the State of California.

Experience and skill in clinical and translational research.
Experience and comfort with standard flexible bronchoscopy and standard pleural procedures.
Experience and comfort with the management of patients in Medical and Surgical ICUs.
Capacity to lead a diverse group of practitioners.
Capacity to develop and participate in educational programs for both trainees and patients.
